Anthropic opens a research preview of Claude Duet, a proactive AI agent app

Claude Duet is a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent. Each morning it sends you a short brief on the most important items across your connected apps, then messages you only when something needs your attention. It works on its own cloud computer with its own browser, runs on Claude Opus 5.5 and can use the 6,000+ connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace. Before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, it waits for your approval; trading securities and moving money between accounts are off-limits even with your OK. The catch: it shares your plan's usage limits, and Anthropic says it may still misread a thread or misjudge what's urgent.
