A developer cut the classic AI writing habits out of a free laptop model
A developer cut classic AI writing habits (em dashes, "not X, but Y", lists of three) from Qwen3-4B, a small open model. The 4-bit build is a free 2.5 GB download that runs on a laptop with Ollama or llama.cpp. In his test on 40 new prompts, em dashes fell from 20.5 per 1,000 words to 0. The catch: the voice is flat, it still invents names and places, and it's only tested on short English prose.
