Hackers left their AI hacking agents' control panels open, and a researcher watched

NorForge's Snorre Fagerland found more than 20 exposed control panels for Cairn, an AI agent platform, that were likely being used for hacking. The busiest group wrote its instructions in Chinese and went after more than 1,000 online stores, mostly in the US, Canada, Japan and Australia. Successful break-ins took about 23 hours. The agents appear to have run on Claude Code powered by a DeepSeek model.
